Sarah Janes


Sarah Janes has been an enthusiastic lucid dreamer since childhood. She is a now a writer, researcher, public speaker, and sleep hypnosis workshop facilitator. Since 2012 Sarah has been running the Explorers Club - an in-person lecture salon exploring a host of diverse and thought-provoking topics, from ancient cultures and ethnobotany, to emerging ethical dilemmas in artificial intelligence and chemically enhanced marriages.

At the beginning of 2019, Sarah moved her attention full-time towards ancient culture studies and continues to host Explorers Egyptology, an online lecture series for which she interviews Egyptologists, ancient history and religion scholars, researchers and experimental archaeologists. Sarah is currently hosting a series exploring feminine power in the ancient world and has so far hosted over 300 events.

With Carl Hayden Smith from Ravensbourne University in London, Sarah founded The Seventh Ray, a modern mystery school that premiered as a VR initiation experience at the The Electronic Visualisation and the Arts Conference, London in 2018 and continues to tour festivals and conferences as an experiential workshop.

Sarah is producer and co-host for the Anthony Peake Consciousness Hour podcast. She is currently working with biologist and author Rupert Sheldrake and The British Pilgrimage Trust to reinvigorate the practice of dream incubation at sacred sites, and she is designing a study with Rupert and University of Greenwich researcher - Pascal Michael to investigate the effect of set and setting on dream content. Sarah is the International Retreat Coordinator for New Hermopolis, an oasis-like, Kemetic-inspired retreat centre in middle Egypt, founded by Hermetic philosopher and psychiatrist Dr. Mervat Nasser. Sarah lives at the seaside in Hastings, England.
