Kerry Forbes ~ hailing from Western Canada, Kerry grew up at a time when you could smoke in an airplane and ride shotgun in the open bed of a truck, without anyone batting an eye! Raised by her mother who was a professional astrologer and who kept company with psychics, readers, trans-mediums, authors, artists and musicians alike.
The only female sibling and last in the line of four older brothers – all radio personalities, Kerry is the only one in her family who did not followed in the footsteps of her ‘revered’ father – FM radio pioneer, Mr. Jerry Forbes; opting instead to take the long, winding and mostly difficult road in life!
Lover of the Arts from the onset, she was introduced at a young age to the magic of musical theatre and the positively mystical process of live production and all that goes into producing a full scale piece of theatre. Right from the onset she was hooked and would spend the rest of her life holding down a ‘day job’ only to provide fuel to her passion of producing live events.
Kerry is a self-professed square peg and for years that caused her to question herself at the deepest levels and sent her adrift on the sea of life, feeling like the perpetual outsider looking in. It’s only been within the last decade and a half that she’s come to appreciate the strength of character and independent vision she’s garnered through living a life of artistic rejection and personal alienation.
Many more failures in life than successes if defined by the ‘traditional interpretation’ of success. Hands down more “no’s” than “yes’” and each rejection, after the heartbreak cleared, helped to shape and strengthen her resolve to continue producing opportunities for like minds to come together in truly authentic and transformative ways.
Artists build a bridge to the soul by doing their art and Kerry helps bring people across that bridge so that they may begin building their own.
