Scott Barnett


Scott Barnett is a well-known figure on the US and international restaurant scene. He was President and CEO of Rusty Pelican Restaurants, Inc. from 1992 until 1998 and led that troubled company through its reorganization and return to financial health.

As Founder and CEO of Bubba Gump Shrimp Company Restaurants from its inception, Barnett grew that internationally known brand to over 40 restaurants and $250 million in revenues. After selling the company in 2011, he worked as Senior Adviser with Pulo Run Capital Partners, an Asia-based Investment Bank and Private Equity firm in Hong Kong. He focused on the Consumer sector at Pulo Run.

He has been a featured speaker on service, management techniques, leadership and financial performance metrics to diverse groups including Kaiser Permanente, Ruby’s Restaurants, Cowen and Company, Thomas Weisel Partners, the San Diego Chamber of Commerce, the Eller School of Business at the University of Arizona, and national restaurant industry gatherings. Barnett has actively consulted with a number of restaurant companies world-wide and is a recipient of numerous awards within the hospitality industry. He is a recognized expert on transactions, branding, concept development and overall operations.

Mr. Barnett is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a B.S. degree in Finance.
