Lauren Marino


Before beginning her career as a writer and collaborator, Lauren was Vice President, Editorial Director of Gotham Books where she was the founding editor in 2001, publishing multiple bestsellers in a variety of non-fiction categories. Before that she was Executive Editor at Broadway Books, a division of Random House, and Hyperion, where she was responsible for overseeing the Miramax imprint. Early in her career she worked as an Assistant Editor at HarperCollins and at The Robbins Office, a literary agency.

Her expertise falls into the following categories: memoir, biography and autobiography, narrative non-fiction, relationships, self help and motivation, personal growth, psychology, spirituality, food and travel narrative, current events, popular culture, beauty and style and women's issues.

As a ghostwriter and book doctor she has worked with well known celebrities, psychologists, doctors, and other people highly accomplished in their fields. Being on the front lines of book publishing for almost 25 years she knows what publishers are looking for and how to create a selling book proposal and write the best book possible.

She has also lectured and taught at the Summer Publishing Institute at the NYU School of Professional Studies, The Tennessee Williams Literary Festival, The Faulkner Society’s Words and Music Festival, the Pacific Northeast Writer’s Conference, and the American Society of Journalists and Authors. She lives in New York City.
