Voices of Women with Host Kris Steinnes: Karma with Joanne DiMaggio

Guest Profile

Joanne DiMaggio

Joanne DiMaggio

For more than 25 years, Joanne DiMaggio has been a student of esoteric studies. A professional writer with a background in advertising, public relations and marketing, she developed her writing skills at a very young age, writing plays as early as third grade. But what she also developed was her ability to write in an altered state of consciousness. At the age of 9, she said a prayer asking for guidance to develop a secret code she could use but her parents would not be able to read. Sitting with pen and paper under the bathroom sink, she closed her eyes, said her prayer and waited for guidance. She received her secret code--only to find out 25 years later that it was the Phoenician alphabet, dating back to 1000 B.C. This strange ability manifested again in college in her 18th century history classes when she wrote her essays seemingly from memory rather than study. And later, while in an altered state of consciousness, she began writing diary entries dating from the late 1700s into the early 1800s.

In 1987 after seeing Shirley MacLaine's groundbreaking miniseries, Out on a Limb, Joanne began devoting all of her time to her esoteric studies, combining guided writing with past life work. She formed a past life research organization and surrounded herself with professionals on the leading edge of regression therapy. She also became involved with Edgar Cayce's Association for Research and Enlightenment, and became a devoted and avid student of the Cayce readings.

In pursuing her Masters in Transpersonal Studies degree from Atlantic University, she selected Cayce's work in inspirational vs. automatic writing as her thesis. Her first book, "Soul Writing: Conversing with Your Higher Self" was based on the research she did for her thesis. Her newest book, "Your Soul Remembers: Accessing Your Past Lives Through Soul Writing" explores the use of soul writing to acquire past life information.

Joanne teaches classes and conducts workshops on soul writing throughout the country. She maintains a private office at the Unity Holistic Healing Center in Charlottesville where she continues with her research and conducts private and group past life regressions.
