Voices of Women with Host Kris Steinnes: Our Rite for a Rite with Rev. Judith Laxer and Experiencing the Goddess Through Yoga with Irene Hauzinger

A Rite of Passage ceremony marks significant life changes within a sacred context. Western culture is sadly bereft of many of these important acknowledgements. In our time together, we'll discuss the need to restore these rites and create and enact one on our common experience of the Blood Mysteries. Regardless of where you are in your life's cycle, honoring your status helps to restore self-esteem, personal power, and reconnection to a greater sisterhood of women who recognize themselves as holy. Irene Hauzinger will discuss the Goddess archetypes: Destroyer. Creator. Lover. Healer. The archetypal Goddess embodies all aspects of the female life cycle. The Goddess archetypes embody and confront aspects of the complete person, much in the way that a yoga practice may alleviate personal suffering through the acceptance and honoring of one's own physical capabilities. Integrate ancient Goddess wisdom with contemporary yoga practices, creating a union of body, mind, and spirit. Celebrate the Goddess through an examination of historical Goddess art and yoga poses.
